Miles and Myrna,
8 x 10
2019
Hand drawing on paper, digital paint and photo collage.

This is the final composition of this shot. Miles and Myrna heading in to town for some supplies. The background is an HDR, hand painted photograph I took in the woods near Lake Placid, New York.

Here is a working close up of Myrna, trying to get all of the facial hair going in the right direction before I hit the hard spots.

With the high resolution scan of the drawing done, now I can work out the color palette of these characters.

As I have said before, everything starts off as a drawing. I have gone straight to digital before, but I prefer to sketch everything out on paper first. The reworking is a better workflow for my style.
